Both speakers finished with brand new foam over the weekend and play perfectly with zero rattle or audio feedback, and both are ready for sale today! I installed the new foam kit that I ordered from Simply Speakers via their online website. The original foam was from 1995 and I did not want to sell the speakers in anything but Used Very Good Condition. Please see the photos in this post to see how the original speaker foam was properly removed completely from both speakers in preparation for the new foam. I wanted to show this so that the buyer would see the care and effort that goes into the process and to assure the buyer the attention to detail that was done. I have seen countless pictures from other sales and even instructional videos where the final preparation with each step was less than perfect. The tone test was used to make sure both speakers are perfectly in balance before applying the black surround. I then set the woofer back in each speaker cabinet and secured with the original screws. Centering the woofer during a foam change can be accomplished by hand alone however adding a sine wave tone test during the centering process personally allows me extra confidence in my work. Smoke free, clean home, owned since purchase back in 1995. CVs are LOUD speakers (no pun intended) and honestly you DO NOT need a high-power amplifier meaning an off the shelf receiver works to drive these speakers just as much as a stereo amplifier that can delivery 500w per channel at 4ohms.
