The VCR reads VHS tapes, accepts/ejects tapes fine, fast forwards and reverses fine, and pauses/plays/stops fine. The remote operates the device. It is paired to the dvd button. It remote is a universal remote, not the original remote that came with the player. It will fast forward and reverse VHS tapes, while it does more of a skip forward/backward for DVDs. Power runs through all the button fine and it operates the device fine. Batteries not included. The red/yellow/white TV cord is include and works fine. There are some cosmetic issues with the device, but it functions fine.
