Genuine Van den Hul Moving Coil Phono Cartridge. Factory Inspected. Tested and works great. Up for sale is a highly desirable original Van den Hul The Crimson XGW The Stradivarius moving coil cartridge. A custom hand-built moving coil cartridge using 24K gold coils, a boron cantilever, VDH Type 1S stylus and Hawaiian Koa wood body treated with 3 coats of finish that was formulated to match the same finish as Stradivarius used on his violins.This cartridge was tested by me in my system and it works great. There are no problems with this. The two areas on the back of the wood cartridge body that look like chips in the wood were that way from the factory on day 1- you can see the finish in those areas. These will not be seen once the cartrdige is mounted. This cartridge is not being made any more by Van den Hul. It was bought new on October 26, 2015. It originally listed for approx. $5600.00.It was sent to the Van den Hul factory in the Netherlands on May, 2019 for inspection and testing at 200 hours per the warranty. No problems then. You can see the sign offs on the wooden box by Van den Hul. It was not used since the 200 hour warranty inspection. 200 hours is considered very low hours- 300 is barely broken in. I just completed a visual check on this cartridge with AJ van den Hul via close up images and he said the cartridge looks fine. This is a fantastic opportunity to own a highly regarded audiophile cartridge. There are glowing reviews all over the internet.
