For sale are these four brilliant Triad Silver Dolby Atmos Surround Speakers.All 4 speakers have marks, scuffs and scratches plus signs of wear and use. Also, one small piece of foam near one of the atmos up firing woofers is missing but this is purely cosmetic. Please check out all the pictures as these make up a large part of the description and show the condition well.Ok, so this is a bit of a story so please ensure you read the whole listing......I bought these around 3 - 4 years ago and have had them running in my Atmos set up ever since, they work perfectly and sound superb. When I bought them locally I had a Google and couldnt find this model anywhere which nowadays isnt really a thing as usually Google comes up trumps. The quality of the speakers is great (exceptional build quality, you can tell they are not a home DIY job except for the after addition of the top speaker connectors which seem really out of place!) Its only now I have decided to sell them I wanted to know exactly what I was selling and I finally found a web page which solves the riddle!These are Atmos speakers built by Triad for Dolby (as a prototype to Dolbys very high standards) and where used in Dolby home theatre Demos to show off what Atmos could do. They have the larger woofers and larger atmos speaker from the silver range plus the weight of each speaker (a hefty 8.5kg and 36cm tall, 21cm wide and 23cm deep) definitely equates to being the basis for their silver range as even the LR-H Atmos speaker from their bronze range only weighs 9.5kg and that has an extra woofer plus 3 extra atmos speakers. The best match I could find in terms of size etc was the triad inroom silver sat which is a bit smaller and not as heavy but has the same woofer and tweeter assembly, minus the atmos woofer (add this and the wight and size would be comparable). I spoke to Martins HiFi who confirmed the triad inroom silver sat is £474 each (so around £1900 for 4) and thats without the Atmos woofer so with this in mind (and looking at the atmos speakers they do sell) I would guess around £600 - £650 each would be a comparable price is this model went on sale. Now, there is quite a lot of conjecture there but hopefully you can see where I am coming from and my logic from what I found out.Obviously being a prototype I cannot say how these would compare to the models Triad have for sale now but they sound great to me and I initially ran them with a genuine Triad Silver centre speaker and the sound was comparable. I also cannot advise on Watts or independence but I would assume the ratings on the triad website will be a helpful guide and I ran them from my SC-LX701 at medium volumes without any issues at all and I think most decent AV amps can run at almost any speaker independence. Anyway, I wont bore you any more. I have priced them with the information above in mind but am open to serious offers. I had planned to sell them as pairs but decided to list them all together as, if like me, you would prefer to have all 4 speakers matching but I would consider splitting so if you only want 2, make an appropriate offer and state it is only for 2 and Ill consider accordingly.Please note, these are being sold as fully working but on a NO RETURNS basis! Will be expertly packaged for delivery and will be sent fully insured too. Will be sent in 2 parcels due to the wights and size of the speakers.Happy to sell abroad, this will be done via the Global Shipping program and they will supply the shipping cost for delivery. Triad InRoom Gold Speakers These little guys are VERY HEAVY! Just under 15lbs each so shipping wont be cheap. In good used condition, one speaker has a bit of expansion of the MDF on the front, you can see it in the photos. Other than that, theyre perfect. Very high-quality speakers.
