IT CAME FROM MY BASEMENT AND NOW IT NEEDS A HOME! Here’s some old gear I’ll never get around to fixing, for cheap! Maybe it’s just what you need to complete your life. Or not, it’s hopefully priced to move and I don’t need it, so bid early and often. This is a SANSUI TU-717 AM/FM ANALOG TUNER. It’s not pristine, there’s some dirt behind the back glass and tape residue here and there, but it is complete. It’s been in my basement a long time, as it was too large for my audio shelf. I plugged it in this morning to check it and it ACTUALLY WORKED— the thing is built like a tank and almost as large. The tuning is still silky smooth despite the years of neglect. It picks up AM, FM, and FM Stereo stations, the ‘calibration tone’ works, meters and LEDs work, and it didn’t blow up in the 15 minutes I tested it. I am amazed and impressed, but I still don’t have any room for it as I have even more records that when I got it. Low start bid of EIGHTY-NINE DAMN U.S. DOLLARS. Amplifier worked with a CD input to AUX 1and speakers connected to the A or B or C speaker L&R outputs and sounded good. Volume, Base, and Treble operated as expected. The Balance Control seemed to be associated with static on the L Speakers and manipulation of the balance control eliminated that static during our test. One of the bottom feet is missing. THE ONLY THING I CANT GET TO WORK IS THE FM RADIO. NO RESERVE. It is being sold AS IS. It is heavy and I do not want it back. It also is over 40 years old and most likely not up to new standards. The pots and controls need cleaned. Some of the lights are out. You should plan on servicing if you intend to use as designed. As a general disclaimer... Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet and knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. If I noticed any damage when taking the pictures, I tried to highlight, so LOOK AT THE PICTURES before you buy. You should plan on servicing the item even if I say it works.
