Description
2x TESLA ECC83 (=12AX7 B339 6L13 CV492), Foil Getter, 1961 Codes, 100%++ (48+51) For your consideration, 2 pieces of *original* 1961 TESLA ECC83 tubes. These are the rare first production ECC83 variant TESLA made for a short time during late 1950s and early 1960s. They feature foil disc getter on a large and robust support, smooth folded plates, non-corrosive pins, and yellow prints. Newer variant of the logo. Print on both tubes is very nice, these are near-mint/NOS! Some isolation paint loose inside, which is normal for these, isolation tested and found to be excellent. These have 1/1961 + 9/1961 date codes, same construction. They test as 100%++, and reasobably well matched/balanced (within approx. 10%), with following results: Tube 1 (48): Ia1 = 3.20 mA / Ia2 = 3.20 mA, S/gm1= 2.20 mA/V / S/gm2= 2.30 mA/V Tube 2 (51): Ia1 = 3.50 mA / Ia2 = 3.40 mA, S/gm1= 2.40 mA/V / S/gm2= 2.30 mA/V ...where a new/unused tube should have S/gm = ~1.60 mA/V, good value for transconductance starts at 1.2 mA/V. Paired from a larger lot of NOS tubes. These are NOT re-branded RFT tubes, but genuine early production TESLAs. Very rare tubes nowadays, because soon after introducing these to the market in the 1950s/1960s, TESLA stopped production of ECC83 tubes, and made only ECC803S and E83CC variants, while re-branding ECC83 tubes from RFT (from approx. 1963 onwards).I have more vintage ECC82, ECC83, E88CC, and ECC81 tubes for sale in my other listings. See my other items for more vintage, rare tubes: pairs of AZ11/AZ1/RGN1064 mesh plate rectifiers, NOS TESLA E88CC and ECC802S, ECC803S triodes, NOS NIB 1950s foil getter Tungsram EZ80 singles/pairs, and more...
