Here we have a TEKTRONIX Selected Matched Pair of RCA 12AU6 Vacuum Tubes BOXED I have quite a stock of these and the boxes are in varying condition to better than the one pictured to a little worse than the one pictured. All the tubes are in similar cosmetic condition. The pair shown in the photos is one of the items on offer All working and Tested , and checked. Low and weak tubes are unceremoniously thrown in the nearest trash can, unless they are collectors Items. When using the word “Matched” it means in test results rather than in cosmetic looks. Whilst I endeavor to put tubes together from the same year and look the same, this is not always the case. I may have the same tube but from differing years matched up in test results, which means they may cosmetically or internally look a little different... The numbers/letters in parentheses are Equivalents put in to help people to find the correct tube. If it does not say MATCHED then please do not consider them to be such. I use a TV7/U military spec Tester which is calibrated . I have 4 of these machines and all display a slightly differing value if I test the same tube, as two testers are never the same. So this shows what I get, and what you get may be slightly different. So all test results are a guide only.I also use a Hickok 752 /800/600 or Amplitrex AT1000 for testing All tubes have passed the Gas and short tests. They are were removed from a TEKTRONIX 502a  that looked like it had never been used.   They are from the late 1960s.   Value is 1.5 uf 236 VAC  experts will tell you that there is no scientific explanation of why paper in oil capacitors will give you better Tone when used in a guitar circuit. But it is a well known fact in the guitar community that paper in oil will be warmer, smoother and have more Sparkle than ceramic disc, mylar or polypropylene capacitors. The original Bumble Bees, Cornell Dubillier, and Black Beauties were paper in oil and thought of by many to be the Holy Grail of Tone as far as capacitors go. Paper in oil (or PIO) caps are just one variety of capacitor. Others are made out of mylar, ceramic, etc. PIO caps were used in the Les Pauls of the 50s and many appreciate their tonal qualities over more modern capacitors. Each tube is cleaned and allowed to warm-up for 90 seconds prior to actual testing. Tubes are tested for quality, life, grid emissions and shorts. No tube is offered for sale that tests below the min number given. We also use our Triplett 3414B as a backup tester.Please note that all tube testers are not created equal and your tester may show a higher or lower test result than our test equipment.All tubes are wrapped in bubble wrap, packed with peanuts and shipped in a sturdy cardboard box to protect it during transit.
