Description
This is a great example of a very highly regarded deck from Technics. Coming towards the end of the cassette era, this machine is based on decades of incremental improvements, and represents the pinnacle of analogue tape technology. This model includes real time digital tape counters, motorised doors, recording functionality and auto tape calibration on both decks. Durham Audio Ltd are members of the eBay pre-qualified refurbished seller programme. Everything we sell that is listed as refurbished is carefully tested for operational performance and electrical safety and comes with free fast postage via Royal Mail Tracked 24 as well as a 30-day free returns policy and a 12-month warranty for UK-based buyers. This machine is presented in very good, fully working and serviced condition, and includes a high quality mains lead and a printed copy of the original owner’s manual from Technics to make sure you get the most out of it. The specification is phenomenal, including:-Dolby B/C and HX Pro-Recording capability on both decks-Accurate fluorescent metering with peak hold-2-motor, full logic-controlled direct drive transport on both mechanisms-Motorised cassette doors-Normal and high-speed dubbing-Auto reverse on both cassette mechanisms-Auto tape type select-Headphone output on the front panel-Digital real-time tape counters on both decks The RS-TR575 also provides an auto calibration feature (ATC). At the push of a button, it records test signals onto the tape, then plays them back to adjusts the bias, EQ and recording level to the perfect settings for whatever tape you’re using. This achieves essentially the same calibration performance as a three-head deck, but completely automates the process. It is extremely unusual to see such quality and functionality in a double cassette deck. With features like real-time tape counters, auto calibration and variable speed FF/RW, the RS-TR575 has a quality normally associated with the highest specification single decks. This deck has been professionally serviced and fully tested, including checking all perishable parts (drive belts, idler tyres) and replacing where required. All four pinch rollers have been replaced with original OEM parts from Technics, which should give many years of service without further intervention. The servicing work also includes lubricating the mechanism, cleaning the switches and testing and cleaning the internal electrical contacts. The electrical alignment has been checked, using a test cassette, oscilloscope, signal generator and external level meters. The tape transport has been tested, cleaned and demagnetised. It has been inspected for electrical safety and put through a full PAT test, in line with current guidance. We take great care in servicing, with the aim of restoring a machine as close as possible to its factory condition - even going to the lengths of dismantling the display assembly to clean behind the window, which makes a surprising difference to its clarity. Cosmetically, this deck is in very nice condition for its age. The fascia, display and back panel all look great with only minor signs of use, and all the buttons are present, spotlessly clean and fully functional. There is a small chip in the top of the fascia where it meets the lid, but this does not stand out and is unlikely even to be visible once installed. Please take a look at the pictures. It all works as it should and sounds great on both record and playback, on both decks. The mechanisms have no obvious wear on the key components, and are in excellent condition. It will be very carefully packed, and we usually ship out same or next day. Please check our feedback, and if you have any questions - just ask.
