TECHNICS SU-VX500 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER Well specified integrated amplifier with plenty of power with 50W into 8 Ohms. Based on the VX4 Super AA amplifier system. Bespoke OFC copper transformer and Switchable moving magnet/moving coil phono input, 2 tape loops plus 3 other line level inputs. Designed and manufactured in Japan. Good build quality with all metal casing, chassis and fascia. Direct input and tone defeat, loudness, mono/stereo, output to two pairs of speakers. Also switchable to power-amp direct with rear RCA/Phono sockets for connection to CD Player, improving sound quality by sending signal direct to the power amp section of the amplifier.Good working order: all switches and potentiometers crackle free, no silent spots or poor switching. Excellent condition: fascia and case virtually unmarked. On the front fascia from left to right: headphone jack, speaker selector, power on with orange standby and red current indicator lamps, power amp direct button with indicator lamp above volume control, bass and treble tone controls, balance, volume, tone defeat, loudness, mono/stereo, record selector, input selector, cartridge selector for moving magnet or moving coil input. On the back from left to right: ground wire screw, RCA/phono inputs for phono, CD, tuner, aux and 2 tape in/out, direct power amp input for use with CD player, two pairs of bare wire speaker terminals (4-16 Ohm A or B, 8-16 Ohm A + B) which can be used for bi-wired speakers (4-16 Ohms), 230/240V voltage selector, figure of eight mains cable socket.
