There are a few scratches here and there and it probably wouldn't hurt to use deoxit on the knobs (potentiometers) as a precaution but I didnt really notice distortions or scratching noises while turning them. I am by no means an expert or technician, but I have been using this set for a while with no issues. I may have to ship this set in two packages because of the weight (depending on your location).
