As much as this is a chance to get a great performing turntable in a world class configuration. You are getting one of the first 1000 Direct Drive Turntables ever made. Perhaps I value the history more than I should, but as this ad will reveal this is an unfinished passion project. To have a fully customized to my tastes piece of museum level history. That is how I came to my BIN and high level valuation. Pretend the history doesn’t matter if you like, but if you are 30. This will be a full on asset in short order. This Technics SP-10 record player is a high-quality device that offers direct drive and speed settings of 45RPM and 33.3RPM. Made in Japan, it has a pitch range of +/- 10% and is perfect for any home audio setup. The brand is well-known for its durability and reliable performance, making it a great choice for any music enthusiast. This particular SP-10 has a serial number under 1000, the SH10B1 SN under 500 and it comes with a SME3009 type iii. So let’s get into the nitty gritty. This is totally serviced and functional. It is totally still disassembled as you can see. So for parts as is and not working is how I have to sell it. I am not capable of reassembling and my life situation has changed in a way that the restoration I was attempting will remain unfinished for a long time. So here is what I have had done: The feet are included. There is no dustcover. My tech said it’s fully restored. I take it to one because I teach history and don’t know what half of what is done means so please forgive my lack of details. I trust my Tech cause he was a McIntosh master service tech and I’ve been working with him for 15 years. I do not have a real idea of what he does, I just know that of everything I have brought him what he has serviced has never failed me post repair or given a buyer an issue. Also, the original mechanical servicing was done over a year ago. So I wouldn’t even be able to get a list now if I asked. I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to finish this off and it just hasn’t presented itself and now that I’m moving, I have to give it to somebody who can. The machine itself works perfectly. It was professionally serviced and holds speed perfectly at 33 and 45. The metal finish was ruined so I had them sand blasted and making sure to keep the important parts preserved. Including the speed indicator strip around the rim. The SN tag. Other than that it is ready for your vision. All of the parts are sorted into labeled bags and boxes and all instructions for both the TA and the Turntable will be included. Though not the originals. Printed PDF’s. This is a very rare opportunity to own a legitimate piece of audio history. One of the first 1,000 direct drive turntables ever sold is not a small thing as these become scarcer and more collectable. I have seen fully restored versions of this configuration sell for over 7K. The sale includes the following: SP-10 MKII Direct-drive turntable with Tonearm board. Original thick matTechnics SH-10B3 Obsidian Plinth with original dustcover. No chips or cracks on plinth.Technics SH-10E Power Supply, which runs on 120V for US/Canada market Everything works, as shown in pictures. It starts and stop instantly. Speed is dead on. The motor and platter run very smoothly and quietly. The physical condition is good for the age. There are modest wear and scratches on the turntable. Typical swirling lines on the dustcover. The screws for dustcover hingers are misplaced (hinges are here). Ill include them if I find them but probably just missing. A trip to the hardware can find replacement. Original feet. Ill pack well and ship worldwide (if possible). The turntable is very heavy (over 60 pounds), therefore not cheap to ship. Local cash and carry is great.
