Technics SL-7 linear tracking turntable. Excellent condition and works fully as expected. Includes Technics P24 cartridge. I do not know how many hours of use are on this cartridge. The pictures show that the stylus still looks good and the performance of the cartridge seems excellent. The SL line of linear tracking turntables is as close to set and forget and play on demand as any other turntables I have owned. In particular, this SL-7 performs at a level that has made it a cult favourite for many years with some saying it exceeds the performance of the SL-10 and others higher in the product range. The combination with the P24 cartridge performs very well - very musical with good sound stage. Very balanced in bass response and throughout the full sound range. The turntable shows wear expected of a device from the 80s. But not abused in any way and operates just like it should with no failures or unexpected issues that I could find. The dustcover seems to have a repair or some other marking, but is very nice in every other way. I do not have any 45rpm records to test, so cannot verify this, but expect no issues since the person i bought it from indicated 45rpm records were no issue. This turntable is heavy for its size. The design is far more based on mass versus the devices lower in the range. This brings an added level of stability and resistance to skipping or other motion impacts. It’s very, very stable and is (alongside my SL-10) the only turntable i did not wall mount to avoid skipping from footfalls or other general disturbance. Buyer to pay postage from Toronto, Ontario. I will pack it for safe travel to you. Local pickup is an option and preferred for those buyers who may be local to me. As it is a vintage device, I cannot warranty it. But, it will be packaged well and i’m listening to it as we speak.
