For sale is a used OEM dust cover for the Technics MK2 SL-1600, SL-1700, and SL-1800 direct drive turntables. This dust cover was pulled from an SL-1600 MK2. Its hard to make out in the photos, but there are light, cloudy scratches, scuffs, and some smaller gouges all over the top, sides and inside of the dust cover. It will need a good sand/polish, but there arent any cracks. Since this is a vintage item, it is sold as is with no returns accepted.

DescriptionI connected it to speakers and an amplifier and confirmed that the record disc spins and that sound comes out of the speakers. I am not sure of the detailed operation, but there seems to be a difficulty with the operation of the auto-lifter. There was no problem in manually placing the needle on the record disc and listening to it. There is no other damage to the exterior. We have cleaned the dirt as much as possible. Very cool, vintage turntable…in the right hands this could be incredible. Unit powers on, makes a low humming sound. Sometimes will spin, mostly not. Tonearm looks to be in good, shape but not sure if it needs work or properly functions. Has normal wear for a unit this age with marks here and there, but no major dents, cracks etc. Platter mat is warped and will need to be replaced. Dust cover has some “cloudiness” to it. I’ve included a video for explanation purposes. Also comes with vintage Stanton 880S cartridge and stylus. For sale is a set of OEM dust cover hinges and mounting brackets for Technics MK2 SL-1600, SL-1700, and SL-1800 direct drive turntables. These hinges and brackets were pulled from an SL-1600 MK2 that needed a new dust cover. There is a small amount of visible corrosion on them, but they work as intended and dont squeak when moved.
