This is the fabulous Technics SL-10 in excellent working condition, serviced, restored, upgraded with manual, inlay to enable transparent records to be played, AM Silver Reference cable 0.9m (£49 alone)—original and newly custom-made puck and dust cover. The SL-10 is a design classic and an engineering masterpiece - there is one in the permeant collection of the Museum of Modern Art. See the HiFi News review. Serviced by SL-10 expert - I also service this for other people and have restored 3. The 310MC cartridge is a miraculous engineering achievement, not possible to make now - the cantilever is a boron tube made by a patented evaporation process that is impossible to obtain today, even on cartridges costing several thousand pounds. Trying to get a company to fit a new stylus onto the original boron tube is nearly impossible, but expert Stylus UK tried and succeeded without breaking the cantilever. Their microfine profile is better than the elliptical fitted initially, so this sounds better than any other SL-10. Upgraded - New puck with a strobe disc. The puck attached to the lid was originally designed so that the turntable could be attached to a wall, played upside down, etc., but there isnt enough clearance for 180g records, which causes the rotating puck to touch the plastic inside. I have custom-machined a new lower-height puck on a lathe that can play 180/200g records fine. The sound quality improved too. Note that the strobe disc is now on this new puck. The told puck can be refitted if required, but I wouldnt recommend it.
