However, don’t the looks fool you. The thing is heavy and quite solidly built. The M45 has a silky smooth eject mechanism. It does. One of the smoothest or perhaps the smoothest I had ever encountered. The buttons and dials offer zero resistance and smoothly performs.The M45 is regarded by a lot of collectors as one of the best two-head decks ever to be put on the market. Some collectors say that it is better than a lot of three-head decks because the transport mechanism used by the M45 surpasses that of three-head decks that were released in the 80’s. Others had fancy circuitry to compensate for dropouts. The M45 had none of these fancy circuitries but dropout is practically zero. We believe this was the 84 era machine. But it has DBX which Dolby B and C aside, is an extremely high quality noise reduction with virtually no compression involved. Playing high quality tapes on these ie chrome or preferably metal, gives a superb sound even to this day and that’s why these machines are being sought after still. Let alone being used as karaoke machines, of course! It has recently been serviced with new belts fitted where applicable, checked and is in full working order. The last one of these we saw available in a 240v version, sold a year or so back for around £400 and that was a pretty scruffy machine whereas this one is in very good clean condition, with just a few age related marks. We will include delivery to UK mainland addresses but please check if you are in areas outside this eg Highlands and Islands. International delivery is possible through the eBay International Shipping Service.

Technics RS-M245X Tape Cassette DeckWith original box, manual and remote control I would describe this as a COLLECTORS ITEM because this particular machine is extremely rare and to have one in excellent working order and very good condition, both with original box and manual, but boasting an early cable connected remote control, is highly unusual, I believe. We believe this was the 84 era machine. But it has DBX which Dolby B and C aside, is an extremely high quality noise reduction with virtually no compression involved. Playing high quality tapes on these ie chrome or preferably metal, gives a superb sound even to this day and that’s why these machines are being sought after still. Let alone being used as karaoke machines, of course! It has recently been serviced with new belts fitted where applicable, checked and is in full working order. The last one of these we saw available in a 240v version, sold a year or so back for around £400 and that was a pretty scruffy machine whereas this one is in very good clean condition, with just a few age related marks.
