Technics RS-M225 Tapedeck, Cassette deck tested and fully functional.. Please see the pictures for the exact cosmetic condition of the cassette deck. Has been tested and is fully functional. The w&f measures at around +- 0.15 % (test tape has built in w&f of +- 0.07%) which is quite a good performance. Records great and all the other functions have also been tested and work great. All the buttons and potentiometers have been cleaned and are crackle free. The playback/record head, erase head and pinch roller have been cleaned and the pinch roller is still in good condition.

Technics cassette deck, model RS-M225. 1982-83. Made in Japan. A clean unit that runs well. Few light scratches, minor blemishes befitting its age. I cleaned the heads with 91% isopropyl alcohol before testing. I dont know when the belts were last replaced. It runs metal cassettes, if thats what you prefer.

One of the finest examples of a Technics RS-M225 youll find, complete with its original box and packaging. It has been extensively refurbished including new belts from the DeckTech range, which are the best replacement belts on the market. Ive tried every manufacturer out there over the years, and I will only ever use these now. The mechanism has also been cleaned, oiled and greased where appropriate. The heads are in excellent condition, the pinch roller is perfect, and over all I dont think this deck has seen much use. Speed stability is impeccable, and the deck runs smoothly and quietly. I have also cleaned the controls, cleaned the fluorescent display (which is as clear as the day it was new), checked over the electronics and replaced passive components as necessary, and ensured that the deck is fully calibrated to the Technics factory specification. It sounds magnificent playing back pre-recorded tapes and home made recordings on decent tape alike, and makes great recordings too. The original packaging is present but no manual unfortunately, though you can download this for free online. I will eMail a copy to the buyer if required. A new UK plug has been fitted.
