Welcome to my listing for my Technics RS-B605 Cassette Deck. This is an incredible sounding deck and is in full working order. I have fully cleaned the tape path, heads, capstans and rollers. I have also calibrated the deck and set the azimuth correctly so it is working at its optimum level straight out of the box. The tape mechanism is very stable and the sound quality is very impressive indeed, right across the frequency spectrum with a very vivid, lively an detailed presentation. The top end is pure and alive and the low end open and dynamic. This cassette deck will really help you get the most out of your cassettes, whether that be playback of pre-recorded tapes or for making excellent, transparent recordings at home. This Denon deck has all the features you need to do that, including Dolby B and C noise reduction and the rarely employed but superb dbx noise reduction system. Technics have a long and illustrious history of producing very high quality cassette decks and this one is no exception. Even the headphone jack sounds really good. As you can see from the pictures, this deck is in excellent condition throughout, as are the heads and transport. There is some wear around the power button and one noticeable scratch at the rear corner of the top panel but that is it. VINTAGE TECHNICS RS-B605 Stereo Cassette Tape Deck with DBX NR. The main features of the Technics RS-B605 are: 2 heads, digital tape counter with 3 digits, tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome and metal tapes, belt driven single-capstan transport. Typical front loading cassette deck with the cassette compartment located on the left side of the deck. Tape eject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed with the side to be played facing forward in the cassette well. Level meters used on the RS-B605 are generic digital peak reading meters with multi-color indication to provide visual saturation level of tape. Full-logic transport controls used on the RS-B605 let it respond to the slightest finger contact for fast and effortless transport function selection. Dolby C-type used in the RS-B605 provides 20 dB of noise reduction above about 1,000 Hz, fully doubling the amount given by B-type. The Dolby HX PRO system provides precise bias control during recording to reduce distortion and improve linearity in the high-frequency range, the result is recorded sound that is highly faithful to the original. Dbx Type II found in the RS-B605 is a simplified version of the Type I noise reduction system. The dbx Type II system was designed to be used with systems with limited bandwidth such as cassette based recorders and also uses a simple 2:1:2 compander to reduce noise. TECHNICS RS-B605 cassette deck dolby b/c fully functional new belt Kassettendeck. In good condition, see pictures for the exact cosmetic condition. Very nice cassette deck, has been cleaned. Belt has been replaced and the current w&f performance is around +-0.15% (test cassette has around +-0.1% built in) which is very good. Sounds fantastic. Recording also works great.
