Vintage TECHNICS SL-1400 TURNTABLE, Works, Needle Not Included, See Description. The turntable works and has been cleaned. The item does have various scratches and blemishes from use, but is in otherwise good condition. There is a burn mark on the cover. The turntable has no needle, so sound quality could not be tested. Technics SL-1400 Direct Drive Turntable acquired from the family of the original owner. This unit has a head shell, but needs a new cartridge and stylus. The head shell is complete with wiring intact. I tested all the functions I could without a needle. The strobe is bright, and the pitch controls vary the speed. The operation and speed of the platter is steady and stable when the pitch control is adjusted. Tone arm adjustments move freely and cuing lifts the arm as its designed. Both 33 and 45 work along with tone arm return after the record has played. Dust cover has some fog, scratches and scuffs but is totally functional and stays up using the spring hinges. Some of the felt is worn from the bottom of the feet but they are still functional. Thats the story with this turntable, needs a new cartridge and needle before use. Please view the auction photos.
