This box was in my basement. I looked inside and found what appears to be a brand new tape deck. The plastic around the plus had not been opened. Still, I know that belts in tape decks can sometimes die and I didnt want to ship something out without knowing for sure that it worked. I carefully opened the tape and plugged it in without undoing the twist-tie on the cord. First play for each direction of both decks only ran for about 3-5 seconds before stopping. After a little fast forwarding and rewinding, I tried again and had success with both directions of both decks. This test -- playing an old Van Morrison cassette -- is all the play this unit has every had. I packed the unit back up the way it was and re-attached the tape on the cord-bag.
