Refer to website for specs: https://teac.jp/int/product/ud-501/top this is the unit that opened my eyes to the possibilities of high resolution audio and digital streaming. to the point where i sold thousands of vinyl records and now all of the sources in my hi-fi rig are digital but for my trusty denon tape deck. you can do a google search and find out for yourself that this is top performing DAC and the BurrBrown chipset is highly sought after. and while i used it strictly as a DAC... it also would make for an excellent headphone amp and in fact many people use them soley for that. i will point out that this unit... like almost all ud-501s has some dim pixels in the display. in fact... of all the used ones i have looked at on line almost all of them have dim pixels... and 99% of the sellers NEVER MENTION THIS FACT. if you were not aware that its a known issue and the seller never mentions it and you get your DAC delivered and the first thing you see are dim pixels on the screen youd certainly be disappointed. obviously it doesnt effect the sound/performance/operation of the unit. its strictly cosmetic and such things can be repaired. you can see the issue im speaking of in one of the photos posted. depending on which mode you are in it is more noticeable in others. in regular 16-Bit/44.1 kHz mode, which is the most common operating mode... it is unnoticeable. furthermore because of this issue... i have discounted the price slightly vs. market value which i have not seen any other sellers offer. no cables included.
