These speakers are in very good condition if you look closley at the photographes you will see apart from small scratches and the faint imprint of Birmingham Polytechnicon the top there are no major pieces of veneer missing or splits at the joints, the bottoms are the most marked. The one speaker was reconed by Tannoy and you can see the glue on the face. One of the terminals is broken on the back the negative HF this does not affect the performance as they are not fitted with what ever it was that allowed them to be bi-amped I think that was on optional extra at the time. I havnt attempted to repair /remove scratches that is up to you but Im sure they would look fantastic if done properly.Please message me if you have any questions.

The diaphragms are original and used in Silver and Red LSU/HF/15L dual concentric speakers. The Tannoy Lancaster cabinet serial numbers match the speaker driver serial numbers stamped on the side. Tannoy GRF 15 inch Monitor Red corner speakers, super rare near-matching pairSuper rare speakers, fully working, sound superb!** all our items are now available for viewing and collection by appointment from our new showroom in Brighton **Both cabinets have their original monitor red drive units and cross-overs.One drive unit is a slightly earlier red dust-cap version, one is a slightly later black dust-cap version.The red dust-cap driver has its original cloth fabric (similar to that used on the earlier silvers). This driver has clearly never been removed from the cabinet, and the bolts appear to be paint-sealed. Therefore we have left this in place and not removed it – we believe buyers will prefer everything left as original as possible. So only the black dust-cap driver has been removed for photos.Both speakers are 100% original Tannoy manufactured GRF units. The two cabinets are similar but not 100% matching as the wood veneers differ. Also the later cabinet is very slightly higher, by about 1cm. When standing separately for stereo use the cabinets seem to be a good pair.Serial Numbers:Red dust-cap speaker: S/N 034215 (paper label, should correspond to the driver), cabinet stamped ­1696Black dust-cap speaker: S/N 050684 (paper label and stamp to driver chassis), cabinet stamped 50684Condition & Details: Fabric: Generally good condition. A small tear and some light discolouration to 050684. This could possibly be repaired/cleaned, but we will leave this to the buyer to decide. Wood: Overall very good condition with general minor marks in keeping with age. Some small areas of flaking veneer around the edges and base. Cabinet 050684 has some signs of old woodworm, but not structural, only to the base and not generally visible. This is old and not active. Drivers: 034215: driver appears excellent and never removed from the cabinet. 050684: some small dents to the red magnet cover, but only minor and not normally noticeable. A small surface scratch to the paper cone. Crossovers: excellent and matching. Cables: both have their original speaker cables, one long and one short. Labels: Original GRF metal badges to front, paper labels and Tannoy transfer labels to rear.Technical: No technical work or service has been undertaken, and these appear to be all original. Sound quality is truly superb and everything seems to be working perfectly!
