Pair of 15 Inch Tannoy Lancasters Boxed and Beautiful Containing classic Monitor Gold (LSU/HF/15/8) dual concentric drivers, it’s unlikely you’ll ever see another pair of these wonderful loudspeakers in this beautiful condition AND in their original Tannoy shipping cartons. Physical condition is as good as any we’ve seen (see close-up pictures). One very feint watermark on the top of each enclosure. The grille cloths are perfect, with no sagging, snags or splits, the woodwork is excellent, as are the Tannoy lightning badges. The rear panels were removed today for the first time since the day they were born. You can see that the serial numbers on each driver match the serial numbers stamped into the rear of the cabinets and written on the paper labels. It goes without saying that we have tested these and they sound exactly as they should - absolutely stunning with all types of music. Transport options:Personal collection would seem sensible, but you’ll need a van or biggish estate. Tannoy Lancaster Cabinets (for 15 inch Tannoy Monitor Gold drivers) – No Reserve. Baffles are cut for 15 inch Tannoy Monitor Gold. If youre looking for affordable cabinets for your 15 inch Tannoy Monitor Golds (or possibly HPDs), then these will be ideal. No drivers or crossovers, these are cabinets only. Each cabinet measures: 84cm high, 54cm wide, and 31cm deep. They are in tidy condition for their age. The wood veneer is generally in good condition. The veneer on the top of one of the cabinets has worn away (please see photos for overall condition). The replacement cloth on the baffles is in nice clean condition. There is a small run in the cloth on one of the baffles(see photo) but hardly noticeable. The cabinets are ‘Collection Only’ (I’m unable to deliver them, nor do I have the time or resources to wrap them up for a courier) BUT they are on auction with a 99p start and no reserve, so they will be selling all the way from the first bid… The boring bits: viewing by appointment can be made prior to auction end(we’re in Malvern, Worcestershire – WR14 postcode). Tannoy Little Red Monitors In Excellent Cosmetic condition. A beautiful pair of LRM’s The covers are original with original badges , all the rest of the components are original with no tampering. There are a few very small, (extremely minor in my opinion) scratches and slight fades in the veneer. Please take a look at the photos to decide for yourself the condition. No studio mounting holes, wax fills in the veneer, bad glue job on the cones etc Sonically, These speakers sound as they should. They were recapped a few years ago and have been serviced and made to perform within the manufacturer’s specification. They come from a non smoking home and have been handled and used with care and respect. They sound AMAZING.Cosmetic: overall: fair condition – hence price.Wood: some minor marks, largely in keeping with age, although the front-top edge of one unit has some small dents as per picture. They are original and sold as seen. The cones and dust caps are intact, surrounds are in good condition. Cone excursion is fine and the spiders are in good condition. The frames are in good condition with a few signs of black paint (from enclosure baffle painting!). One crossover lead has a repair to the cable, other is OK. Overall, the condition is as expected for the age. All Pictures are of actual speakers. History: These speakers were bought new between 1969 -1970 andhave been stored unused for approximately the last 10 years. To my knowledgethey have only ever been driven by low power valve amps (Quad 11s). They will be packed in double skinned boxes. Each unit including packing weighs in excess of 8.5kg, therefore the P&P charges are for secure courier. Local pick up is available. Any questions please ask and I will try to help. This is a pair of 12 Tannoy Monitor Gold speakers housed in Mansfield cabinets. Although these cabinets would have originally housed HPD 315 drivers they have been re-purposed. I have photos of the drivers and a crossover they house from when I bought them and can send them to anybody who would like to see them. I cannot upload them here as they are too small but you can see the detail in them by zooming. The drivers and the cabinets are all in excellent condition and sound superb. These speakers are too big and heavy to post so they are for collection; I will then be able to demonstrate them. I may be able to deliver them - contact me to discuss this option.
