PLEASE NOTE THIS IS COLLECTION ONLY FROM EAST YORKSHIRE This is my Dad's Thorens TD 160 turntable, bought in the early 70s I believe, could even be 1972 when l was born. It's been in the family since then and I grew up listening to my first and formative music on it too. It has an Ortofon M15 E super cartridge and a needle. I haven't connected the deck to an amp so can't confirm the quality of the sound, but it spins at 33 and 45 rpm setting and the lever works well to move the belt up and down when plugged in. It got put away in a cupboard, nice and dry in the 90s as CD players took over. The lid is in tact and in pretty good condition, no cracks or major scratches. Some small chips on the front edge and a scuff on one of the sides but considering most lose their lids or have cracks this is good. The plinth has a Tandberg badge which I think is some limited collaboration with the Norwegian firm Tandberg. The wood shows some patina, well it shows wear - see pics but would be easy to restore if you wanted but I guess some would like the ageing. Horses for courses. I fitted a UK 3 pin plug to test it spins. I would remove this prior to collection as I think it would need some more modern 2 core flex and it's your call as to how you want to wire it. You can see the pics of the interior workings which look immaculate and I made sure to put the base cover back on in exactly the same screw holes. I looked for a sticker or serial number, but suspect there was probably a Thorens silver sticker on the deck with this on but my Dad probably removed it to make it look sleeker/cleaner. It's collection only and I live in East Yorkshire near Goole/Howden, so please factor that in and it's factored in the price. I think these are too precious to let a courier chuck around no matter how well packed or labelled fragile. No offence to the good ones. I would suggest if you know all about this sort of stuff you'd replace the cartridge anyway and belt and sort a service. Please see my feedback for buyer confidence. TacT (Lyngdorf) TDA 2200 Digital Amplifier, no remote control or software. 200 W per channel. It all started with Peter Lyngdorf. He was a pioneer of the Danish HiFi industry where he had been trying to turn quality HiFi into a mass market commodity since the late 1970s. TacT Audio Denmark brought only a few models to market using the TacT brand before they decided to rebrand themselves as Lyngdorf Audio as we know it today. While still operating as TacT Audio Denmark the company broughtMillennium mk III, as well as the more moderately priced semi-digital (analogue pwm control)SDA-2175power amplifier, and the semi-digitalSDAI-2175integrated amplifier to market. The fully digital integratedTDA-2200with modular extension options (allowing for future addition of room correction and analogue inputs) soon followed. At the same time the company was working on a new room correction system to replace the one lost in the split from TacT. The resulting technology was finished in collaboration with Jan Abildgaard Pedersen in 2006 and brought to market as RoomPerfect. Some comments on Audio Forums on comparisons between Chord SPM 1200E, Lyngdorf SDA 2175 and TacT TDA 2200 I have done some extensive comparison (on my MartinLogan Vantage speakers) of the Lyngdorf SDA 2175 against my Chord SPM 1200E. The shocking news is that the Lyndorf is less coloured and has slightly better low-level detailing. The Chord has a bigger (higher, wider, but a bit less deep) sound stage and deeper (but less quick/neutral) bass. It also sounds a bit more compelling musically. However, the Lyngdorf is not clinical AT ALL! It even sounds very sweet and homogenic, with instruments taking shape in a very well-defined and extremely detailed way. The Chord is in some ways rougher and less clean, with the occasional steely edge on high strings. I was quite surprised, because the Chord is about 7 times as expensive! I still prefer the Chord, but not by a great margin! The TDA 2200 has a more relaxed character, with even more low level details and more precise and more upfront imaging than the SDA 2175 (will have to compare apples to apples with the SDAi 2175, of course, the results of the SDAi 2175/SDA 2175 compared with the TDA 2200 have a lot to do with the quality of the front end)
