As you would expect for a piece of professional grade audio equipment, the sound quality is phenomenal, and the cassette mechanism is impressive – with quick fast forward and rewind times and a highly responsive tape transport. Cosmetically, this deck is in very nice condition. The display is clear and looks fantastic, the front and back panels are excellent, with only minor signs of use. The only obvious imperfection is a crack in the top surface of the cassette door cover, but this is only visible when the cassette is ejected and has no impact at all on function. The case is in great shape - there are some light surface scratches on the lid, as you often find with stackable hi-fi equipment, but these are unlikely to be visible once installed and overall there’s nothing that takes away from the fantastic looks of this machine. A printed copy of the original owners manual for the functionally identical Tascam 102 is included to ensure that you can get the most out of this superb machine.
