Pioneer SX-1980 Receiver See official description below - after my brief description. Not tested - as in did work before being shipped to Switzerland (from USA). Was my uncles but passed away before all shipped belongings were opened and set up. Some of the other hi-fi equipment has come back to the UK, unfortunately not this given its monstrous size. Therefore, there are no speakers to test this, though it does turn on using a step down/ up voltage convertor. It has a USA plug and despite being used in the USA, it is the model that has a switch/ plug on the back to alter the input from 120v to 240v. If you do this it just needs an 8 amp fuse (swap out the 15 amp one) - such is marked on the back of the receiver. I didnt do this as didnt have an 8 amp fuse when in Switzerland. He was the sole owner of this and was very good and passionate about his electronic, mechanical and photographic items - maintaining them and keeping them in good condition. Overall condition, I think, for a 40+ year old item is pretty good. Some scuffs and scratches on the outside - the wood and the metal, but not bad at all (see pictures). May be a minor chip in the wood too. Front and dials are excellent. Fantastic looking piece of vintage kit and if I had the set-up to go with it and the means to get it to the UK, might have contemplated keeping it. Original box and manual included. In terms of price - between being hard to find itself, high US prices, pretty high prices just for parts, thought Id start middle of the road. Thank you for looking. 3x 2SD946A and 3x 2SB706A Pioneer SX-1980 matched set D946A B706A. These were pulled from a working SX-1980 Right channel. The transistors are tested and function properly. These transistors are pretty much unavailable and are the only way of replacing your blown SX–1980. Hardware and Mica insulator and bypass cap included.
