One of my favourite ever radios - just so sensitive, selective and rich sounding. I can not speak highly enough of this unit, which is from my personal collection, and this is probably the finest example on the open market today. It is a lovely working unit, having had a complete stripdown & service, and in very clean (near mint) overall condition. It has had all 3 new belts fitted. Additionally, the head, capstan, pinch roller and pulleys & idlers have been cleaned. The switches have been cleaned & lubricated, and the internal & external casings have been hygienically deep cleaned & polished. All controls work properly. There is a discernible difference between mono, stereo and matrix settings. The balance control moves smoothly with a centre detent. The VU meter moves quickly and freely with signal strength. The motor speed had been checked, and all cassette functions perform brilliantly, with instant play and strong rewind & fast forward. The transport controls move freely but with reassuring feedback. The eject mechanism and tape counter work perfectly. The radio is just incredible - it picks up FM Stereo very well with accompanying signal light and the aerial is original, fully intact and corrosion free, with the tip still present. The aerial lock is undamaged. I counted no less than 20 stations during the FM range sweep while testing for this advert. The MW and LW bands also pick up stations. The radio is warm, full and so rich sounding. The handle is secure and sturdy, with gorgeous chrome ends. This unit has built in stereo microphones, inputs for stereo external microphones with remote pause facility, a DIN plug for interconnection, and even auxiliary stereo aux in jacks. In addition, there is a front mounted headphone socket. It has been tested with mains power and batteries at the time of listing, and a video taken for peace of mind. The battery cover is present and snaps in reassuringly. It has been stripped, hygienically deep cleaned and polished as part of the service. The unit is in superb vintage condition, with all original knobs, switches etc present and in working order. She is over 40 years old, so please remember that you are not buying a new unit - there are of course some minor signs of wear, rubbing, etc associated with decades of enjoyment.
