Sugden HeadMaster Headphone & Pre Amplifier The HeadMaster is a dedicated pre-amplifier and headphone amplifier with exceptional qualities of musical performance. It has been specially developed to extend the boundaries of audio pleasure to ultimate near-field listening conditions. It is also suitable for use with most commercial headphones. The unit is equipped with three stereo input facilities, a parallel tape output, and a switched pre amplifier output. These facilities create a very flexible piece of equipment which can operate as a stand alone dedicated headphone system or be combined as a high quality pre-amp in a total audio system. The special design features of the amplifier circuitry have been incorporated to enhance headphone performance but also facilitate a very high quality pre-amplifier performance. The amplifier signal path configuration is pure Class A constructed completely from discrete components. The application of the Class A circuit has been optimised to obtain its characteristic benefits of superb low level listening and low distortion. Particularly important with the use of headphones is the inherent avoidance with Class A configuration of odd and high order harmonic distortion. The amplifier is wide bandwidth with a very neutral and transparent sound stage through the full musical spectrum and volume range. Includes UK power cable. Condition: Very good cosmetic condition and perfect working order. Unit does have a few small marks but nothing that really stands out. Here is a Sugden Bijou Headmaster headphone pre amplifier. It comes with its original remote, user manual, packaging and a power lead. In 2008 it was returned to Sugden where the transformer was replaced and the Tape Out outputs changed to being a second set of Pre out outputs. If you wanted this converted back, I have the instructions from Sugden and the process is simple. In addition to being a headphone amplifier, this unit can of course also be used as a stand alone pre amplifier for your main system. Condition report: This unit is in remarkable condition, with no marks that we can find. In use: We have powered this item and it is working exactly as it should. No issues. Summary: This is such a lovely little item. Beautifully made. It needs to be seen as well as heard. The small print...The photographs show the actual item being sold. I use a studio to show the items in as much detail as possible. I must stress, that I have not serviced this item, just described its current cosmetic and operational condition as honestly as I can. PACKAGINGI only use brand new double wall boxes and all internal packaging is via ethafoam... this is the perfect foam to keep items well located and far superior to bubble wrap.
