Build ahead of its time (No longer produced), this device is without doubt now quickly becoming the best solution to drive electrostatic headphones especially as amps technology is getting better and better with time surpassing all dedicated Stax and diy designs which are almost not evolving with time, this energiser is the future proof device of them all, to use with ever improving modern Amps. STAX SRM1/mk2 pro amplifier. Some small marks on paint and faceplate (see photos) but really in excellent condition given its age (these were manufactured from 1982 until 1995). I had this one refurbished as one channel didnt work when I bought it. Capacitors were replaced with better ones, along with some other bits and pieces. It now works flawlessly, but has seen little use since refurbishment. This has sat on a shelf unused for the last few years after I upgraded to a STAX T1 amp. I kept it as a spare but have now upgraded again. I dont need 3 STAX amps! This particular version is sometimes called the swiss army knife of STAX headphone amps, because the input voltage is switchable (100 / 117 / 220 / 240v) and it offers both normal and pro bias outputs. As a result it can be used anywhere in the world, and power any STAX headphone - (although it would be underpowered for the SR-007 or SR-009.) That doesnt mean it isnt loud enough to destroy your hearing in minutes at maximum volume with compatible headphones! NB: this will NOT work with dynamic headphones. It is an electrostatic amplifier, for electrostatic headphones (ie: STAX) I also have a very nice pair of STAX headphones (SR-404 signatures) listed and would be negotiable on price to combine the two.
