STAX SRM1/mk2 pro amplifier. Some small marks on paint and faceplate (see photos) but really in excellent condition given its age (these were manufactured from 1982 until 1995). I had this one refurbished as one channel didnt work when I bought it. Capacitors were replaced with better ones, along with some other bits and pieces. It now works flawlessly, but has seen little use since refurbishment. This has sat on a shelf unused for the last few years after I upgraded to a STAX T1 amp. I kept it as a spare but have now upgraded again. I dont need 3 STAX amps! This particular version is sometimes called the swiss army knife of STAX headphone amps, because the input voltage is switchable (100 / 117 / 220 / 240v) and it offers both normal and pro bias outputs. As a result it can be used anywhere in the world, and power any STAX headphone - (although it would be underpowered for the SR-007 or SR-009.) That doesnt mean it isnt loud enough to destroy your hearing in minutes at maximum volume with compatible headphones! NB: this will NOT work with dynamic headphones. It is an electrostatic amplifier, for electrostatic headphones (ie: STAX) I also have a very nice pair of STAX headphones (SR-404 signatures) listed and would be negotiable on price to combine the two.
