THESE WERE ORIGINALLY DESIGNED FOR 4-CHANNEL QUADRAPHONIC RECORDS BUT ARE EXCEPTIONAL FOR ALL VINYL RECORDS! This is an original unmolested genuine 681EEE-S MK II, top-of-the-line audiophile stylus from STANTON. This is not a replica, It is the real deal! It is new, never used, never opened, and it has a beryllium cantilever which is and was the finest element for a light weight cantilever and beryllium was superior for transmitting electrical signals to the magnets. The Stanton 681EEE was beloved by many people. But when it was upgraded with the second generation Stereohedron stylus, I listened to it and the transformation was remarkable. On a suitable record, it was as if I was listening to a studio master-tape. The Stanton 681EEE-S has a very special stylus and this one comes complete with its original stylus mounted to a beryllium cantilever. This was their top-of-the-line model and its unlikely well see anything like it again due to the cost and dangers of working with beryllium. The Stanton 681EEE was great cartridge to begin with, but Stanton needed to create a cartridge that would compete with the SHIBATA stylus so they developed the Stereohedron stylus as this was their finest, highest channel separation, frequency response, channel balance, and output level attainable for a Quadraphonic four channel stylus. It is a magnificent sounding cart & stylus. These were so in demand that Stanton made two generations of these and this is the second and highest regarded. Back in early 2002, I found out that all cartridge makers were being told to curtail their use of beryllium so I bought many of these gems and especially the styluss from LP gear and others. I have one for my own personal use. This is only one I have left except for one mounted on my quad turntable. Stanton 681-EEE-IIs. Up for sale is a legendary Stanton cartridge. This was bought NOS, and I think it was. I had it mounted to try out, and it sounds like a new cart. There is plenty of high-frequency information. Tracks brilliantly as one would expect from a stanton cart. All the included paperwork matches the cartridge. The plastic mounting blocks and screws are included and are still in the unopened, original bag. The little metal box and screwdriver are in as new condition. The case is in nice condition, but the clear plastic sleeve has a couple of cracks. Genuine sale, I put less than 30 hours of play on this cart. The reason for sale is I have two, as well as a couple of Pickering equivalents.

Cartouche classique Stanton 681EEE. Jai remplacé le stylet, je pense par lun des modèles Jico les plus chers, mais je ne me souviens plus exactement lequel. Je ne lai pas utilisé depuis environ 5 ans, mais il a un beau son détaillé et un excellent suivi à 1,25 g. Na servi que quelques heures après le remplacement du stylet. (comme jai réussi à mettre la main sur un fabuleux Pickering XSV ...) A bien fonctionné dans un bras Rega RB250 et un SME 3009. Classic Stanton 681EEE cartridge. I replaced the stylus, I think with one of the more expensive Jico models, but I cant remember exactly which. I havent used it for about 5 years, but it has a lovely detailed sound, and excellent tracking at 1.25g. Only used for a few hours after the stylus was replaced. (as I managed to get hold of a fabulous Pickering XSV...) Worked well in a Rega RB250 arm and an SME 3009.
