This will be well-packed.  I have cleaned the speed control switches thoroughly -- push them gently.  I had thought it was some sort of capacitance sensing switch but it's just plastic and has very small movement to change speeds.  I lubricated it while I had it open to check for any bad caps (saw none and left the electronics alone). It holds constant speed and the automatic function is great.  The SL-1401 is a HEAVY turntable, not the plastic-based technics units that are still great but not like this beast...  Stanton 680EE Cartridge with D680 stylus and little brush. Has a few extras. Box is beaten up. I’ll use painters tape and put duct tape over it to double box it. This cartridge works and the stylus still plays. I would replace it the stylus. I had it for a while and I never replaced it. Again the cartridge works but I recommend replacing the stylus. Thanks for looking
