I brought it out last week and hooked it up to my JBL L100T speakers and my CD player and was really impressed as I always was with this really nice piece of HIFI audio equipment. I am now redoing the room and will setup a vintage system I have been collecting for nostalgias sake so I will offer this up for sale. It is really nice and it works and sounds awesome. Marantz SR8000 Stereophonic Receiver Service Manual ORIGINAL. NOT Photocopy! (44 pages plus pullout schematics.) I remember being surprised a few years ago when I started to see eBay sellers offering EMPTY original audio shipping cartons. But I really kinda get it. Original owners manuals/advertising materials/ service manuals (and, yes, even packing materials) can transport a new owner of prized audio classics to a zone where he can feel some of what the original first owner must have felt. Pretty cool. In that spirit, and with an appreciation for the REAL WORLD USEFULNESS of having actual factory REPAIR documentation, I am offering a number of service manuals this month. Ive owned these manuals for years -- but they are low dollar items Im just getting around to now. Im a one man band and not getting any younger. And, I admit it, Ive created a pile of stuff that often proves to be heavier than I can lift. So, I get to things when I can get to them. Capice? Obviously, I cant provide volumes of detail for each $10-30 item. There arent that many hours in a day. And, I dont offer a return option on service manuals (for reasons which should be obvious). But everything Im listing is in SOLID condition or I dont list it all. There may be an occasional short handwritten notation by a technician (these manuals were generally distributed to the service departments of well known audio dealers and repair shops). Receiver is in very nice cosmetic condition and includes the high quality original remote control, see photos. In 2000 this unit sold for $1199.95. Features gold plated, input terminals, and three fiber, optic inputs and three coaxial inputs along with one fiber-optic output and one coaxial output. This unit predates HDMI technology so for home theater I just run my HDMI outputs from devices directly to the TV monitor and use the digital inputs on the receiver for sound. I am currently using it in stereo mode for music listening and it has a very warm, sweet sound as many people have attested to in various reviews on the Internet. All functions are working correctly. If you put your finger under the Tuning Preset < button and pull up on it, it will disengage that button and you can use the unit perfectly fine. Along with this, the unit does have 2 small dings on the top panel. Unit has been priced to reflect its quirks and minor damage.
