NO RESERVE AUCTION - Hitachi D-7500 cassette deck When Hitachi launched this deck in 1978, it carried a price tag of $700 which was no small change back then. That $700 MSRP would be roughly $3,300 in todays money. So this was clearly not a simple run of the mill cassette deck. It was designed to challenge the likes of Revox and Nakamichi and for the most part, looks and sounds every bit of a worthy challenger. Unfortunately, this deck need some TLC like a new belt (at the minimum). The capstan spins when we hit play but the tape is not spooling. And because we cant get the tape to play, we cant hear anything come out from it. So our testing and evaluation is up to this point only.
