SPL Phonitor 2730B Professional grade headphone amplifier. Legendary headphone amplifier now replaced by the Phonitor 2 selling for 1500. This is a tweakers heaven as you can tweak the crossfeed, speaker angle (when in speaker simulation mode) and center channel mix, of which the latter is the most immediately noticeable, while the others took me a bit of time to adjust. However, even for the plug-and-play user there is a lot to love in its incredibly clean and transparent musici delivery , which far exceeds the Violectric V200 I also have for sale (you would choose that for a warmer, almost tube-like sound which is most pleasant to some but also objectively more coloured than the Phonitor) and the Audio GD R28 I have been using as my main amplifier. As an example, my Focal Clear and LCD-X never sounded better than with this. It is also fascinating to see the effects of the various sound tweaks available with the HD800S, which as we all know has the largest soundstage of any headphone available today. The unit is not mint as the original owner had it for a decade, please see photos. Nothing affecting the sound. The unit remains a great looker, especially at night with the yellow-lit analog meters. Please note that this model does not have RCA analog inputs, only XLR. Only comes with power cable. No original box but will be packed safely with a lot of bubble wraps. Free local collection strongly encouraged. The unit is bulky and moderately heavy (i believe 4 to 5 kilos). International delivery is just a guess, I will refund any excess paid if actual shipping turns out less.
