Diese Monitore werden ineinigen Studios immer noch, wenn vorhanden, als Referenzmonitoreeingesetzt. Zu den Teilen:Grundsätzlich sind die beiden Unverbastelt, im absoluten Original Zustand.Optisch sehr gepflegt, das Furnier ist tadellos, keine Kratzer,Abschürfungen, Macken bis auf die eine kleine Stelle siehe Fotos.Die Abdeckung hat den Zahn der Zeit nicht überlebt.Habe ich mal neu Bespannen lassen incl dem original Spendor Logo.Sieht sehr schick und stimmig aus!Technisch ohne Mängel, die Sicken des Tief/Mitteltöners könnten mal neu gemacht worden sein? Auf jeden Fall sind diese in sehr gutem Zustand.Die Audax Hochtöner ohne flüssige Bedämpfung klingen super, Eine Kalotte ist im unterem Bereich der Sicke etwas eingedrückt.Siehe Foto! Aufgrund der Größe und des Gewichts der Lautsprecher ist eine transportgerechte Verpackung und Versendung leider nur schwer möglich, daher biete ich sie zur Selbstabholung an.Am 12.07.23 hat der Verkäufer die folgenden Angaben hinzugefügt: Auf den Membranen der Mitteltöner beider Lautsprecher deuten auffällige Markierungen darauf hin, dass möglicherweise eine Reparatur stattgefunden hat. Mein Vater, der ehemalige Betreiber eines Lautsprecher-Fachgeschäfts und von dem ich die Lautsprecher habe, erinnert sich jedoch nicht an eine solche Reparatur. Es ist daher wahrscheinlich, dass diese Arbeiten von einem früheren Besitzer durchgeführt wurden. Trotz dieser Spuren funktionieren die Lautsprecher ausgezeichnet und liefern eine hervorragende Klangqualität. Zur Aufwertung der Optik könnte das Holz aufgearbeitet werden. Eine Möglichkeit dazu ist es, das Holz abzuschleifen und neu zu lasieren bzw. eine Mischung aus Beize und Lack aufzutragen. Dies würde der Oberfläche ein frisches Aussehen verleihen, und anders als durch eine Lackierung, den Look der Holzfasern erhalten.

Due to covid, we have downscaled oue inhouse edit facilities, and moved to remote working, there fore I have forsale some surplus kit. they are ex national broadcaster, with a single owner, always lived in edit suites, never in damp or humid OB trucks. There are some small scratches on the woodwork, I could have touched them up, but prefer to sell them in their present state rather than tarted up. You can do this, or keep them as they are? the choice is yours... As the BBC broadcasting unit was about to order another batch of the monitor, it was found that the supplier had modified the drive units, meaning the LS3/5 design had to be fundamentally revised. The BBCs Designs Department was called upon to adapt the product in light of the supply changes. Modifications were made to adapt to the new drive units and deal with the altered resonance pattern, and the LS3/5 became the LS3/5A.[ The BBC then licensed the product to a small number of private sector companies.
