Der kleine Top-DAP kann damit so gut wie alles an Datenformaten verarbeiteten. PCM bis 32 bit/384 kHz, DSD bis DAS265 (11,2 Mhz). Die eingebauten Verstärkerstufen steuern angeschlossene Kopfhörer sowohl unsymmetrisch als auch symmetrisch an. Der SP1000M lässt sich per DLNA im heimischen WLAN mit allen entsprechenden Audiogeräten vernetzen. Wie alle Geräte der neuen Generationen gibt es für den A&ultima SP1000M sogenannte APKs.
