The number of hours on the stylus is unknown as Im not the original owner. Cosmetic condition is excellent- dust cover has no cracks or major scratches. Theres a couple of functional issues: 1. both dustcover hinges are broken exactly the same (visible in last photo) so the cover doesnt stay up; 2. the cueing mechanism makes a mechanical noise while the arm is going up or down but the tonearm is otherwise silent- may just need lubrication. Also, the stylus drop-down point may need a slight adjustment inward- some LPs work fine, with others the stylus slides off the LP edge. Manual (not included but available on vinylengine.com for free) shows how to do it- the original key is missing but a screwdriver can be used (the adjustment is under the removable rubber button next to the tonearm pillar and anti-skating adjustment). All functions work normally, sounds great and this Sony is packed with features; The technology under the hood (BSL motor, Xtal-Lock/Magnedisc system, SBMC frame, gel-filled feet) is the same as Sony's bigger models from the period.
