We have for sale a SONY WM-D6C Walkman with Leather Case. This model is considered the best sounding Walkman ever made. The serial number of this unit is also quite low and considered one of the better built D6C. Serial No. 152482. First off, the unit does play, and has its issues, let me explain below: Issues - Belts most likely need replacing, playback initially did sound really clear and punchy, but now it has slowed down.- Pinch rollers seem ok, but probably need cleaning or replacing - Rewind button seem to need holding in to work, Fast Forward is fine - Record level pot was damaged, broken part is included (see pictures). Record pot was replaced with a larger ALPS pot so this is non-standard replacement but it appears to do the job. Although I have not tested recording thoroughly.- There is a crack near the Record level pot/knob also.- Some corrosion may be present underneath the cassette tape plate, did not seem to effect use.- Plastic screen door has lost is adhesiveness and needs re-applying (suggest removing old adhesive from the unit first) Overall the unit has its problem, can be an excellent parts unit if theres some things missing from another unit that are now extremely hard to come by. Otherwise this unit can be restored to its glory, albeit still needing the original record level pot. Pickup preferred from Pymble but can ship at buyers expense.

Sony Walkman WM-102 - good condition, works but could do with service. Had this as a teenager in the 1980s. Have replaced the drive belt and it works but feels a bit sluggish. I imagine the oil will have thickened over the 30 years - a service would probably be a good idea. Overall condition is pretty good. It looks smart but there is a little wear on a couple of edges. The carry case is perfect. The adapter for a 1.5V battery has a loose connection and needs to be in the right place for it to function. The battery holder for the rechargeable battery shows some signs of a leaked battery.
