The system turns on when powered and the display lights up well (as seen in photos), but the open/close button won’t work and a rattling noise is heard inside. Not sure what to do so hopefully someone smarter than I will fix this

This unit is in excellent cosmetic condition. Please look carefully at all pictures and judge for yourself. It is a very well built Sony unit having considerable heft. Functionally this unit has some issues. Please READ CAREFULLY. This unit turns on and the carrousel works. The tapes seem to load properly but sometimes they will play and sometimes they wont. When they do work all functions are working such as forward play, reverse play, fast forward and fast reverse. All of the belts seem to be working properly but the loading mechanism seems to need some adjustment. As a result I am selling this unit AS IS, FOR PARTS OR REPAIR, NO RETURNS. The sale includes a copy of the OWNERS MANUAL and the SERVICE MANUAL. Buy with confidence. I have been a highly rated eBay seller for over 24 years!
