A great, clean, working example that comes with its manual and service record. Im selling on behalf of a friend so Im not an expert. That said, I have personally tested this machine. I have recorded on it and performs great - nice steady playback and no audible issues. It was serviced along with the other almost identical TC 630 (listed as #1) in 2018 (see photo - I have enlarged the comments). The only downside is a missing silver top to one of the knobs (photo). Other than that, it is practically unmarked. It was well looked after by an audiophile. All controls are solid and positive. Ampex plastic take up spool included. This Sony tape deck will need its capstan roller engaging arm lubricated. We manually engaged the capstan roller and the tape deck functioned properly with nice stereo sound. Both VU meters work (see picture). We will refund if you are not satisfied with this item.
