Sony TC-D5M 1980s Vintage Portable Pro Stereo Cassette Recorder Unit is in Excellent working order & the record and playback work beautifully. Fast forward and rewind working fine with no slowing. Some marks on the battery cover as you can see in the photos however, inside the battery compartment contacts is pristine with no corrosion inside there. The carry strap is not present. Ive tested the record function and it is amazing! Used my phone and recorded just a bit of Joni Mitchell at the tail of just a normal bias tape and WOW! Estate lady said it was stored in a climate-controlled and non smoking household. Overall with it being some 35+ years old it is really nice and plays great with out any noticeable wobble or flutter. VU meters work nicely and so does the Batt/Light Button. I do not have the AC-DC power adapter, but the recorder operates on 2 D cell batteries which are new and included along with some audio cables that you can see. These are the best portable cassette players I’m aware of, and they won’t ever go down in value I am told. I will pack carefully for you for the journey.
