Overview A 3-channel dividing preamplifier designed for the multi-channel ES series. The transistor 2SC401, which is the same transistor as the TA-1120A and TA-3120A, is used to achieve the highest performance in line with the design of the ES series. There are four levels of crossover between low and middle frequencies : 150 Hz, 250 Hz, 400 Hz and 600 Hz. There are also four levels of crossover between middle and high frequencies : 3 kHz, 4 kHz, 5 kHz and 6.5 kHz.This allows you to find the appropriate frequency for your speakers and enclosure. In order to obtain better low-frequency characteristics through flatter frequency characteristics, a knob is mounted so that 21 combinations can be made. The cutoff characteristics of the crossover frequency are 18dB/oct. for the low-mid range and 12dB/oct. for the mid-high range.This is based on the assumption that a horn-type speaker is used for the middle and high frequencies. In such a case, the positions of the tweeter and the squaker are separated depending on the size of the opening. Therefore, it was judged that too rapid characteristics would sound apart and unnatural. Based on hearing tests, it was determined to be 12dB/oct.
