Sony Betamax SL-HF950 SUPER BETA HI FI VIDEO RECORDER PAL SPARES OR REPAIRS ONLY. Powers on, transport functions work with a little noise when “tape inside detection” is pushed down (see video). Unable to tune a clear test signal on my old Grundig CRT, therefore please assume it’s faulty & only useful for spares or as a man cave prop. Some signs of rust bubbling under the paintwork & on the bottom plus the expected scratches & marks for its age. Transit screws will be secured for transport. Sony SL-HF950 Super Beta Hifi VCRGood cosmetic condition for age, only a few signs of useAll Playback / FF / RW / Pause functions seem to be working wellEject mechanism is working smoothly and quietlyGood picture from pre-recorded tapes (see image of airmen for example)I had a look inside to see if there were any common faults like a leaky battery, corrosive black sticky pads, or leaky caps - but all looks OK to my casual inspectionI havent touched or tried cleaning the headsKNOWN FAULTS:I cant get the machine to record in colour from the composite input. It passes through to the TV in colour via scart. But the recordings are B&W when played back. The machine does record in colour fine from the RF input though. See the screengrabs of Sonic the Hedgehog - colour is an RF recording, B&W is composite.The LED VU meters are not fully working.Please note that I am not an expert on these machines, so there could be other faults that I havent found - so sold as spares / repairs / parts.Will be well packaged - double boxed with transport screws in place.
