It slides back in to play and stops automatically, or can repeat play. It is possible to play manually with the drawer open.Due to its age and because it is still fully working and to avoid damage in transit, I wont risk sending it by carrier. This is for collection only otherwise :-)This is just a turntable: A phono stage and amplifier/active speakers or an amp with a built-in phono input is required to use this. It doesnt have any type of built-in amplifier. It provides MM (moving magnet) level output. Feel free to ask about this before buying if unsure, Ill be as helpful as I can.Please note that the mark on the front left corner of the drawer is slight damage, its not just dirty. Otherwise its in great working condition.I have just fitted a new stylus, it plays and sounds fine.It still has the original Sony power plug that would typically connect to another Sony product for power (my XO-5 in this case). A standard UK plug will be needed so it can be plugged in to a wall socket.
