Direct drive turntable which has ‘lost ‘ the ability to play as an automatic deck, but it will play manually and is accurate at both speeds, The strobe is a bit faint but can be used in a shaded room. Has to be turned on and off using the mains switch and the arm raise/lower works OK. I have owned this for some time and have tried to make it work fully every now and then, but admit defeat and can’t find anything mechanically or electrically wrong with it, so I assume it is something really simple. A full printed out download of the service manual is included to help you try to sort it all out. The mains cable and the phono leads have been replaced because the originals were a bit knackered and the general condition of this is generally a little scruffy, but it will play records and with the SME fitting, it’s really simple to change cartridges and headshells. The cartridge fitted is the original Sony one with a brand new stylus. It took me months to find a correct stylus for this as there are variations and this variation was particularly not easy, so thanks to ‘the Stylus Lady’ for having this in stock.This lid is in reasonable condition, it is attached and opens and closes and seems to be intact with good hinges. SO there it is, a Sony PS-333 from way back when, mostly plastic and definitely going cheap, but it will play your vinyl and not bankrupt you in the process. The cartridge is Moving Magnet so will need an amp with a ‘phono’ input or a ‘phono preamplifier’ to go into a ‘line’ input and it has a hard to find new stylus... and I think I did mention that it was new. This is an Auction sale with NO buy it now price. SONY PS-333 Stereo Record Player/Turntable Turntable Fully Auto Direct Drive. I used it a couple years ago and it worked well. There are a couple of issues, however. Since I last used it, the needle somehow got bent. I have a feeling some little nephew hands got curious and did a little touching. Also, one hinge pocket on the dust cover is partially broken. It does still work but it’s definitely broken. The cover also has the normal scuffs and scratches. Besides that, its in pretty decent shape. The stylus can be found online for about $30.
