Please read full description before bidding This is for a much-used pair of Sony MDR-NC500D digital noise-cancelling headphones. When I bought them in mid-2009 for about £250, the noise cancelling was class-leading. Of course, the technology has improved somewhat - many noise-cancelling headphones these days both sound better and cancel noise more effectively.  They are in working order - BUT the built-in battery has lost almost all its capacity, and will no longer hold sufficient charge to be of any use. Sony were clearly aware that even when new that battery capacity might be an issue; they sold the headphones with a 2xAA inline battery compartment that could be used as an alternative portable power source. This can still be used, and is included. The headphones can alternatively be used with the supplied AC power adaptor connected if you are using them in e.g. an office. The headphones were amply provided with accessories, including a gold-plated 6.35mm adaptor and an airplane adaptor (offering both a 90-degree L-shaped stereo connector and a flippable 'dual mono' jack connector such as used in some aircraft seats). Both these are provided. The original carry case with shoulder strap is also provided. The headphones still have their original 14-year-old ear pads, and it shows: they are badly worn around the base, though they still hold firmly in place and are comfy! Replacement pads can be cheaply obtained online if desired. The carry case also has a couple of paint scuffs on it.

How ever does come with original Sony charger. Also included in the auction is the Sony DAB Digital Radio XDR-S50. The radio is in good working condition with a few marks from general use, but nothing major. Again Sorry No Original Box or Instructions. I have paired these two items together because they both use the exact charging adapter (Sony AC-ES 608K3), so you can charge the headphones by night and then power the radio during the day!
