It powers up with an external 9vDC supply (not included). However, it will not play a CD, and there is a repetative skipping sound. The unit needs a service. A simple job for someone with the parts and experience with these. It is widely known that the gears and a few electrolytic capacitors are first to go on these. Cosmetic condition is good with only a few scratches here and there. Supplied with originalrechargable Sony battery (probably no longer working) and its leather case. This is a rare and highly regarded, feature packed pice of 1980s technology. Feel free to ask any questions or make an offer.

Sony Discman E-559CK. Similar to D-E551, D-E555 and D-E556CK.. Here for sale is my lovey Sony Discman D-E559CK. This is in excellent working order and good cosmetic used condition*. The D-E55X range was quite a high specification when released in 1999 and the D-E559K was the best of the group. Notable stand out features include an optical line out and the ability to be equipped with a remote control (RM-DM29) which this one comes with. It was one of the very last modes to come with 15mW per channel before they were generally stepped down to 5mW in 2000 and a paltry 0.5mW in 2001/2 for a number of models so it’s capable of driving larger headphones etc. All functions and equipment etc works fine and it has seem only slight use. *Please note the following condition wise: - The unit has light scratches predominantly on the lower left 1/4. I have tried to show this in the last image. - The top left corner and top right corner have very small wear on the edge. - I have printed of the Sony manual for the next owner, this is simply a copy from the Sony website and not the original manual. - I have described this as ‘good’ condition and included the maximum number of photos.
