Zusätzlich wurde die komplette Laufwerksmechanik gewartet, der Disc-Schlitten öffnet und schließt absolut butterweich. Ebenfalls eine Besonderheit ist bei diesem Sony, das es sich hier um eine Swoboda modifizierte Variante handelt, leider ist nicht bekannt welche Modifikation genau vorgenommen wurde. Da es dieses Modell nur in schwarz gab hat man die Tasten und Schubladenblende gegen goldfarbene Elemente aus dem CDP-X777ES getauscht.
