Powers on, display working fine, but track count remains 0 when a CD is inserted. Did not touch or tried to repair anything inside. Aesthetics and exterior conditions:Tried to capture everything on the photos uploaded. Silver has got some minor scratches and tiny plastic damages on the front, Black case is also ok, but rear panel is discolored as seen in pictures and whole equipment has got a bit old smell. Conclusion:I consider this listing as a kit for Vintage Sony lovers, HiFi tinkerers, who have the skills and passion to repair old equipments and want to build an ultra rare CDP-40 CD player exactly the way they want.
