This is a nice feature rich Sony 5 disc unit made in Japan…it has some nice extras that aren’t on a lot of the Common Sony 5 disc units made in their cheaper plants…this one has a DSP sound effects chip built right in…select hall, church, jazz club, stadium, disco or flat audio output…has music scan and peak search options also…this one has a headphone jack on the front with line out / phone level adjustment…so you really don’t have to hook this up to a big amplifier if you want to just put on a favorite cd and grab a pair of headphones. Has fixed and variable RCA outputs. Note that I tested this with clean store-bought CDs that had no imperfections or scratches or scuffs…that’s who this is really for…if you keep your cds out and they have fractioned against other discs or items and you have imperfect cds you will probably get skips…if you keep your discs in cases and there are no visible imperfections on them (like the disc I am showing in the gallery) this will be an excellent CD player for you…no remote or manual included.
